The line in the farthest distance where land or sea appears to meet the sky.

The horizon is one of the most elusive phenomena in the landscape; constantly changing as we approach it while also receding behind us. Along with the obvious meaning of perspective, horizon is also an obscure metaphor for possibility, prospect or scope. The horizon, like the imagination, is elusive, untouchable and is constantly changing.
